Springtime Fun

Such a fun weekend we had...

Jesse had a ton of paperwork he needed to get done but Jacob was not in the mood for Dad to spend the weekend buried in paperwork.  Fortunately, Uncle Jeremy came to the rescue.  He took Jacob fishing and mushroom hunting.  Jacob is so lucky to have such an awesome Godfather!

Here is a picture of Jacob and Isaac with their big catches.  It was Isaac's idea to have his fish look like it's gobbling up Jacob's fish.  Such sillyness!  You can tell by the look on Jacob's face that he is in heaven.

 Fixing tile in the field...

Pure sweetness...

Easter Celebration

Four Easter egg hunts later and my cabinets are FULL of chocolate!  We started our Easter celebration with a get-together at Great-Grandma Betty's on Palm Sunday.

Here's Anden enjoying Great-Grandma Betty's tireswing.

This just spells S-W-E-E-T-N-E-S-S.

Easter Sunday right after church, at our house.

Just before the egg hunt at Grandma Mary Lee's.
Jacob, Sam, & Anden.  Grace, Kaylee, Isaac, Anthony, and Emma holding Lily.

Gotta love mud boots.
(Trust me... he needed them after all the rain we've had!)

Kaylee with her new purse she got for Easter.  So Sweet!

Jacob didn't want to stop for long.  He was in a hurry to find more eggs!

Anden with his basket full of goodies.

I hope everyone had a great Easter!  God Bless!!!!!!!

Bedroom Makeover

I have wanted to paint my bedroom since we built our house 6 years ago, but I couldn't decide on a color.  I wanted a creamy mocha.  Everything I looked at seemed to have tones of yellow or green.  I have always been a Home Depot Behr Paint kind of a girl.  Well, since I wasn't having any luck finding the perfect shade there, I went to Sherwin-Williams.  The gal there was so helpful.  She asked a few questions and it took her no time before she had several shades for me to choose from and then explained which undertones each one had.  I settled on Threshold Taupe.

The first picture is more true to color.  For some reason the other two pictures make it look more gray than what it really is.

Looking in the bedroom from the hallway.

I need to find something to hang above my bed.  I'm thinking a rot iron wall hanging of some sort.

Here's looking from the far corner.  (No we don't have too big of a bedroom.  It's small and cozy.)  My favorite thing in my room is the picture box you see hanging between the doors there.  I know it's a shocker, but I have several pictures of the kids in it.  It opens up and is a jewelry box inside.

Storm Damage

We had some horrible storms come through last night.  I heard today that they confirmed 4 tornadoes touched down in our county!  We had a little damage to the roof of Jesse's shop.  Our swing set was also torn to pieces.

Here's the swing set portion.  It blew about 40 feet across the yard.  You can see the roof further down the hill there.  And the club house was blown even further down the hill.

Here's a shot of what is left of the clubhouse.  The slide came apart from it and is even further down the hill.

Just glad we were safe and sound inside our basement.  We had a slight scare as we were getting the kids downstairs.  It was 11:30 or so when they issued the tornado warning.  Jesse and I went upstairs to bring the kids down.  He picked up Jacob and carried him down.  I got Kaylee up and told her to follow Jesse down as I went to the other room and got Anden.  When I came down, Kaylee wasn't there.  Jesse & I both paniced because she's our sleepwalker and has tried to go outside before.  He started to head to the garage thinking she went out that door.  Mind you the power was flickering in and out by this point and he had the only flashlight so there I am standing in the kitchen, holding Anden, screaming out her name.  I finally heard her rustling around back in our bedroom.  We hustled downstairs just in time to hear the windows start rattling.  So thankful we were all safe and sound.  I love spring but I hate Mother Nature!

Times have changed

Fifteen years ago, I spent my Friday nights hanging out with my friends,
going to ballgames, cruising "The Strip", going to the movies...

Let's just say TIMES HAVE CHANGED.

This was my Friday night tonight...

Oh gosh no... that's not me in the tractor... that's Jesse.
I'm behind the camera, doing what I do best...

STAYING OUT OF THE WAY!

Oh and manhandling 3 munchkins who wanted to take turns riding with Jesse.

And guess what...

I wouldn't have it any other way!

My father-in-law might though... when we came past his place, he asked me which field Jesse was in. You'd think by now he'd know not to ask me such questions... I told him, "The one with the purple flowers." Never mind the fact that nearly all the fields in the county have purple flowers in them. He loves me!

Here are the kids playing with Grandma & Grandpa's baby goats.

We've been busy...

fun times with friends... planting bulbs... double back handsprings... planting our spring garden... dirt under our fingernails... lunch with a good friend... waffles with syrup, LOTS of syrup... baths... planting trees... sowing in grass seed... spreading straw... windburnt faces... runny noses... chissel plowing... hair rolling... mulching... and granny smith apple eating...

School Program

Kaylee & Jacob had their School Program tonight.
Each grade did a small musical performance.

Here are a few pictures from the evening...
