Fun in the Sun

First of Many Visits to Holiday World this Year

My beach baby, SO SWEET!

And I couldn't help but to post this one...
it just shows how much my kids love each other.
If you look closely, you can tell she's saying, "I love you Jake!"
And you can tell by the way he's got his arms around her
and gritting his teeth that he's giving her a big bear hug.

You see it too, don't you???

No More Pink for Jacob

When Anden was first born, he slept in a bassinet in our office/makeshift nursery.  When he grew to be too big for the bassinet, we moved him upstairs into his crib in Jacob's room; which meant Jacob had to move into Kaylee's room and sleep in a girlee-fied room.  When he's had friends come over he tells them, "Oh by the way, I sleep next to a pink wall."  He's been asking for sometime when he'd get to move back into his room.  Well, tonight's the night...

Needless to say, Jacob is SO EXICITED to be back in his room and sharing it with Anden, and it's a bonus that he's got a bunkbed now!  He's decided that Kaylee can sleep down below tonight.  Anden is still in his crib and will be for a few more months.  Hopefully he'll continue sleeping through the night and we won't have 3 kids up at 2:00 AM.

Happy 1st Birthday Anden!!!

~ Anden, what are you up to at one year old? ~

~ You are the sweetest baby.  You've got the sweetest eyes, cutest nose, the most darling little mouth, and of course a charming personality.

~ You pucker up your little nose when you're acting silly and make the silliest faces.

~ You are able to stand for several seconds at a time without holding onto anything.  You've even pushed yourself up into standing from the middle of the floor a couple times.

~ You will walk if we hold your hands, but you drop to the floor and crawl as soon as we let go.  You also walk behind a pushtoy.

~ You make a beeline for the steps when the gate isn't up.  You're SO FAST!

~ You babble and jabber nonstop.  I think you actually say "Dada" now and mean it.  The other day, you heard your dad come in the door from work and you said "Da?" and took off around the corner to find him.

~ Your favorite toy is these little stacking bugs that have magnets in them so they stick together.  You stay busy with them forever!

~ You love to be sung to.

~ This past week, you've been waking up in the middle of the night again. The first night you woke up and your clothes were soaking wet. I got you up, changed you, and put you back to bed. Every night since then, you've woken up at that same time each night. You stand in your bed and cry until one of us comes up, gives you your paci, and lays you back down. You really need to stop this!!

~ You take a morning and an afternoon nap each day.

~ Still no teeth yet!

~ You're wearing mostly 18 month clothes, size 4 diapers, and size 4-5 shoes.

~ You're drinking 3-4 6 oz. bottles a day. You eat oatmeal for breakfast, a stage 2-3 fruit and veggie for lunch, tablefood for supper, and then baby food cereal at night.

~ You have a sweet tooth like none other!  Last night at your birthday party, you attacked your cake like it was going to get up and walk away.

Anden, we love you so much.  I can't believe how fast this last year has gone.  You've brought so many smiles, laughs, and good times to our family.  We are so blessed to get to love on you each and everyday.  Happy Birthday and We Love You!

Hey Batter Batter Batter... SWING!!!

Thought I'd post a few pictures of what we've been up to here lately.
We're pretty much living at the ballpark anymore.
I think my Envoy could drive itself there.

Tell me Jake, how can you keep your eye on the ball,
WHEN YOUR EYES ARE SHUT!

Jake's favorite past time while in the outfield.

Kaylee up to bat

Hey batter look at me,
I'm a monkey in a tree,
I'll tell you when to swinggggggg!

We're so proud of both the kids.
They're having so much fun and that's really what's most important.

Blood, Sweat, & Tears... and Poison Ivy Too

After a little blood, a lot of sweat, and a few tears, we're finally done with the landscaping behind the house!  Thanks to Jesse's brilliant idea to get fill dirt from the woods, I caught a lovely case of Poison Ivy.  Today I went in and got a Prednisone shot, so I'm good to go.

Kaylee was a big help with keeping Anden occupied.  No wonder we call her "his other mother."  She didn't care too much for shoveling rock.  That's where the tears came in to play.  Jacob on the other hand loved it.   He'd load his big Tonka truck full of rock and away he'd go.

Check it out below!

Rite of Passage

Kaylee FINALLY lost her first tooth.  She pulled it herself!
Seems like every week she'd ask me when she was going to loose a tooth
because "all the other kids in my class have lost teeth..."
one girl even lost 2 in one day (that really got her panties in a wad.)

Welcome to the club Kaylee... I'm just glad your brother
and/or a baseball bat had nothing to do with it.  :-)
