Share the Fun

Kaylee has participated in the 4-H Share the Fun Contest the last two years.

The contest was last night and they won the Group Act Division!

They did so well and had a blast.

Good luck to them next week in the Area Competition.

 

This year her 4-H Club did a fashion show

but put their own spin on things...

Below, you will see Kelsey (the "flower/flour girl"),

Abby (in her beautiful "ball gown")

and Kaylee (in her western look complete with a jean skirt,

a shirt with a scoop neckline, and saddle bag purse.)

Happy 11 Month Birthday Anden!!

Anden, what are you up to at 11 months?


~ You are into everything. 

There that pretty well sums it up for this month...

Just kidding, I'll continue...

~ You found my tupperwear drawer and you have emptied it 376 times...
give or take a few.

~ You are really good at the drop it
(it being a cup, a toy, my keys, your cheerio container, etc.)
and see how many times someone will pick it up for you. 
You're little fan club at the ballfield,
which consists of several little 3-4 year old girls,
LOVE LOVE LOVE playing this game with you.

~  You are babbling so much! 
Constantly, "nanana," "bababa," "mamama," "dadada."

~ You wave goodbye.

~ You've just this week started letting go briefly
and standing for a couple seconds on your own.

~ You love being outside
although you're not content to just sit in a stroller. 

You want to be down on the ground,
eating all the dirt you can find. 
(Seriously it's disgusting.)

~ You love to give kisses to all your little girlfriends at the sitter's house. 

You crawl up to them, open your mouth as wide as you can
and plant one, or two, or ten right on them.

~ You're a really good sleeper FINALLY!  I almost hate to post that.

You go to bed around 8:00 and sleep till 7:00. 
You normally nap 2-3 times a day.

~ You drink 3-4 bottles a day. 

I can tell you won't have any trouble giving up your bottle

because you barely want to sit still long enough to drink a 6 oz. bottle.

~ You're a stinker when it comes to table food. 
You're not all that crazy about it yet.

You love crackers, cheerios, mashed potatoes, and bananas,
but you just don't know what to think
about all that other stuff I try to get you to eat.

~ And you're a stinker with your baby food too at times! 

Somedays you'll gobble up 2 containers and other days

you'll fuss, smack the spoon away, and refuse to open your little mouth.

~ Still no teeth.  You're going to be like Kaylee. 
She was over a year old till she got her first tooth.

~ You're wearing mostly 18 month clothes and size 4 diapers.

~ And you hate to be told NO.

You stop what you're doing, turn around, and let out a pouty, pathetic cry.

I think I hear an Emmy nomination coming your way.

~ It's amazing... you STILL rank right up there
with Kaylee & Jacob of course, as being the cutest baby ever.

~ We Love You Anden! ~

Welcome Abigail Marie

My newest little neice...

~ Abigail Marie was born Thursday morning. ~

7 lbs. 12 oz. ~ 20 inches long.

Isn't she precious!  Can't wait to get my hands on her and cuddle her a bit!

Spring Break Fun

9-1-1

Ever hear the advertisement for OnStar?  You know, the one with the little guy that calls in for his Mom who's had a seizure?  Well that got me thinking the other day as I was eating lunch with Jacob and coughing up a lung after having some vinaigrette salad dressing sail down the wrong pipe.

Jake: "Mom, you okay?"

Me: "Yeah," (insert cough cough), "I'm okay," (insert more cough cough)... "Jake, what would you do if I really wasn't okay?"

Jake: "I'd sing to you and rub your back mom."

Me:  "Hmmm... you think you might call someone?"

Jake:  "Oh, yeah, uhhhhh, yeah, ummmm, yeah, I'd uhhhhh, I'd call the police."

Me:  "Fantastic Jake!  You're right!  Now do you know what their phone number is?"

Jake:  "Ummmm, well, uhhhhh... no."

Me:  "Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine..."

Jake:  "Oh yeah, nine-one-one."

Me:  "Awesome.  You're amazing!  That's right nine-one-one!"

Well, at least I know I'd get a nice back rub while being serenaded by sweet Jake if I was ever in need of medical attention.  Makes me feel so safe and secure.

Freckles

As you can see, Jacob's little button nose and scrumptious cheeks are peppered with handsome little freckles.  One day I made a game out of kissing all his freckles... now he begs me to do it again.  Today, we talked about why it's imparitive that I kiss every last freckle on his little face every single day.  I don't wish for the day when he won't even let me kiss just one of his freckles, so I'm going to enjoy this while it lasts.

Hope everyone had a blessed Easter.  It was a beautiful day here.  Went to church, grilled steak with twice-baked potatoes and salad for dinner, did some yard work, took a walk in the woods with the kids, and then the five of us went for 4-wheeler riding.  All "Because He Lives" (my favorite Easter song ever.)  God Bless!
