Happy 7 Month Birthday Anden!

Anden, what are you up to at 7 months?
~READY~
~SET~

~GO!~

~ This last month has been full of Rock 'N Roll! You've now realized that you are mobile and can rock, roll, or wiggle your way over to whatever catches your eye.
~ As you can see from the pictures above, you're able to go from sitting to hands and knees on your own fairly gracefully.

~ You've managed to wiggle your way under the Christmas tree and have gotten into the gifts a few times.

~ You grab whatever it is I'm holding while I'm carrying you... a drink, a book, the newspaper...

~ You eat 3 meals a day and drink 4- 6 oz. bottles a day.

~ You really like the Gerber Biter Bisquits, although you make a huge mess with them!
~ You weighed 19 lbs. 3 oz. and you were 26 3/4 inches long at your check-up earlier this month.
~ You're still wearing mostly 12 month clothes and size 3 diapers.

~ You went through a little phase this month where you wanted to get up at 11:00 PM and then again at 5:00 AM. THANK GOODNESS THAT HAS ENDED... as of last night anyhow... fingers crossed for tonight!

~ You're babbling a lot. You're favorite time to talk is in the car after we drop Kaylee & Jake off at school (it's the only time you're able to get a word in edge-wise!) Some of your first sounds have been "Ma," Da," and "Ga."

~ You're starting to reach out for people you recognize. The other day I was holding you and you reached for Grandma Mary Lee. You love being passed back and forth between mom and dad all through church.

~ You love falling asleep with a paci in your mouth and one in your hand.
~ You are so lovable! I love kissing you right under your chin... it makes you cackle and laugh so hard!

Meet Evan

Evan is the newest addition to our family. St. Nick dropped him off a couple of weeks back to keep an eye on the kids. Every night, he reports back to Santa to let him know if they've been behaving. Then each morning, he shows up in a new spot. This morning Jake spotted him on the Elk Horns in the foyer!

Oh NUTS!

So the letter of the week is "N." What to have the little guy take for Show and Tell that starts with the letter N. "Nuts mom! I want to take nuts!" Great idea Jake! So yesterday afternoon we go outside and pretend to be squirrels as we gather nuts for him to take for Show and Tell today. Then being the highly efficient, always prepared mother that I am, we pack them away in a ziplock bag and place them in his backpack. Remember that part, IN HIS BACKPACK. Fast forward to this morning as we're walking out the door at 7:30 for school. "Mom, my nuts! My nuts! Where are my nuts? They're not in my bag!" I turn his bag inside out because I know they're in there... however, no nuts. (Seems a certain little boy had to get his nuts out last night to show his dad and then forgot to put them back in his bag and has no idea where he left them.) So guess who was outside this morning at 7:30 in the 30 degree weather looking for more nuts. Yes... yours truely. Somehow though he made it all worth it as he jumped out of his seat and gave me a tight squeeze around the neck before snatching up his nuts.

He'd be SOL if he weren't so dang cute!

Pictures

I had Anden's 6 month pictures taken the other day and I couldn't resist getting some of the three of them together as well. I think they turned out so well. Enjoy!

Digging our way out...

We are slowly digging our way out from the stomach bug.

Jake started with it Wednesday afternoon and didn't stop vomiting until around 10:00 that evening. Anden started in around 9:00 PM that same day and didn't stop until about 3:00 AM. I started in Friday about 1:00 AM and am finally feeling better this morning. Kaylee came home from school Friday, laid down on the couch and woke up an hour later vomiting. Jake started in for a second round with it yesterday late afternoon, but is feeling better this morning. And last but not least, Jesse finally succumbed to it around 9:00 last night and was up all night with it, but is feeling better today.

Needless to say, we are not traveling to my mom and dad's this weekend like we were planning to do. Instead, we're tackeling the laundry room.

Playing catch up

Well, I sure hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I really meant to put up a "What am I thankful for" post, but it just didn't happen. We had something to do or somewhere to be every single day! We spent Thanksgiving Day with Jesse's family. We were with his dad's side of the family for lunch and then spent the evening with Jesse's parents, brothers and sister, and their families. Needless to say, we ate way too much food! Friday was spent finding all the Black Friday deals. I went with my SIL's and am almost done with my Christmas shopping! Saturday, Jesse's cousin Megan was married. It was a very beautiful wedding. And Sunday we got together with some friends to watch the Colt's game. GO COLT's! (I really hope they lose at some point during the regular season, otherwise, I'm afraid they'll lose in the first round of the playoffs.) Anyhow, between all of that, plus decorating for Christmas, and Anden being a little under the weather, it's just been a little hectic around here. This weekend we're heading up to my mom and dad's to spend the weekend with them, so hopefully, between now and then, I can get a little caught up on laundry and cleaning. Sorry I haven't included any pictures... I promise to share a few in my next post!
