Two steps and a landing

We've moved the gate from the base of the stairway, to the top of the landing.
I've forgotten how challenging a toddler can be...

especially a toddler that isn't afraid of anything...

After a morning of, "No, no Anden... TURN AROUND," now I'm sitting back trying to keep myself busy with the camera so that I don't interfere with this natural learning process...
a landing and two steps won't hurt him right?

He thinks he's so good that he can do it with his eyes shut...
or maybe I've blinded him with the camera flash...
not really sure.

Atta boy!

You're almost there!  One more step!!!

Now just picture me in your mind, dropping the camera and launching forward to catch him
because he must not have heard me say, "One more step!"  I'd make a terrible mama bird...

Yeah Anden!  You did it!

Good thing we've got a chiropractor appointment already scheduled for in the morning!

Bible School & Heimatfest

We've had a very busy week this past week. The kids had Bible School and also participated in the Heimatfest Little Miss & Mister Competition last night.

Crazy Hair Day at VBS

VBS Closing Program Wed. evening  This is Jacob with his friend Alexa.

Kaylee at the Closing Program

Heimatfest Little Miss & Mister 2010
I think they both had a good time.  They especially loved the goodie bags they received afterwards.
Kaylee loved watching the Big Girls with their fancy princess gowns.
They were both a little nervous, but they did so well!  I am so proud of both of them!

Jacob is the first one on the left in the front row.
Kaylee is the second one on the left in the third row.

Kaylee performing, "I Can Sing a Rainbow."  So pretty!

Jacob playing the banjo during one of the musical routines.

Jacob was awe-struck by the Queen Contestants as well.
This picture cracked me up.

Turkeys and Bunnies and Deer, Oh My!

Jacob woke up this morning and found 2 turkeys and a rabbit frollicking through the front yard.
Without a word, he runs out to the garage,
grabs his bow and arrow, and his orange hunting hat and heads outside...
don't look too hard, by this time, they were LONG GONE into the woods.

"Hey mom, can you help me find me arrow?"

"Of course I will. And if we don't find it today,
I'm sure the mower will find it tomorrow." Ugh.

And then a little while later, we got another visitor.

Jesse will be so excited.  It's a little buck.
He chases the does off because they're having a feast out in our bean field.
But I think he'd let this one stay for dinner... literally!
To any anti-deer eating fanatics out there, I'm sorry.

Guess who's W-A-L-K-I-N-G!!!!

It's Anden!

How cute is he!?!?!?! I could just eat him up!

He would rather crawl because he can get where he's going much faster,
but everyday this last week he's taken more and more steps each day.
